Site Description: A scenic coastal site with XC potential. Top landing is tight. Bottom landing only at low tide. Carne Beach is a safe and sandy bathing beach.
Altitude: 280 feet at take off  (350 feet at top landing).  Height Top to Bottom: 280 feet.
How to get there: From Tregony follow sign posts to St. Mawes, Veryan, Gwendra, Carne, Carne Village. The field is on the right just before the first cottage on the right.
Vehicle Access & Parking: Park inside the field gate close to the hedge on the right. Be careful not to obstruct the rigging and landing area.
Rules and Restrictions: Do not enter the field if there is a hay crop ready for cutting. if in doubt ask Mr Betty in Beacon Cottage adjoining the site. Use adjoining fields only in a real emergency. The field is like an extension of the owners garden so respect their privacy and keep away from the house.
Rigging Notes: Hang Gliders rig at the top and carry down to launch.

Marshalling: Keep the landing area clear. Keep the air in front of launch clear.

Launch Notes: Beware of the front boundary. Barbed wire in a hedge.

Top Landing Notes: Most of the field slopes away. Work out your landing approach before take off. Beware of rotor.

Bottom Landing Notes: Check area of beach available. The rising tide covers the beach very quickly. PG pilots landing in front of take off must return to the field via the Coastal Path and the road. Not over the hedge!.

Hazards: From the air the surrounding fields look flat. They are nearly all sloping.

Restricted Areas: Land in other fields only in a real emergency.

Airspace: This site is in a Military Low Flying Area. There is a lot of helicopter activity.

XC Tips: Do tell us!

Met Services: Dialmet is available for RAF St. Mawgan and RNAS Culdrose.
